MEET JAYNIE

Jaynie is a lifelong community servant with over 30 years of business experience. She and her parents moved to Dallas when Jaynie was four years old and she has lived in and around District 11 her entire life. In 1993, she married Ron Romaner and they have four children. Additionally, her family helped raise two boys from Ethiopia who were brought to Dallas for spine surgery at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital. They still consider her their mother.

While attending Skyline High School, Jaynie learned about city matters and how decisions at the local level directly impact our quality of life. Jaynie obtained a master’s degree in Urban Studies and became a successful business owner while serving on over 15 local, national, and global non-profit boards. She also helped create the DISD CityLab High School and the new International STEAM Academy Foundations.

Jaynie served on the City Plan Commission for over six years before stepping down to run for City Council. There she earned a reputation for being smart, trustworthy, and effective. She was instrumental in working with neighborhoods to ensure development projects add to our quality of life, like the Preston Hollow Village project that brought desirable amenities like Trader Joe’s. She is working tirelessly to make sure the Dallas International District (aka Galleria/ Valley View) will be something we will all be proud of.

We deserve a representative who is passionate, tireless, respected, and understands how to get things done.
